We absolutely love this spiced cream cheese frosting! It has the rich cream cheese flavor with the spice of the cinnamon and nutmeg. Perfect for all sorts of cakes, loaves, cookies, and more! Plus, it only takes minutes to come together but people will think it took you hours to come up with this flavorful concoction of deliciousness! This recipe would be the perfect amount of 24 cupcakes or a two layer cake. We would recommend cutting it by a quarter if you want to use it for a loaf cake as this makes almost 4 cups of frosting.

Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, blend cream cheese and unsalted butter.
  • Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Once all powdered sugar is fully incorporated, add remaining ingredients. Blend well.
  • All done! Refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

While this frosting is delicious right after it’s made, this frosting is excellent when made one day in advance.  It allows the spices to really incorporate with the cream cheese.
